Sessions are 45 minutes long. The number of sessions depends on your goals, the severity of your situation, your budget, and your timeframe. We will discuss this together during our first one or two sessions and create a plan that you feel comfortable with.
In the beginning, it is recommended to attend sessions weekly to give yourself a chance to work on your goals. You will know when it’s time to transition to less frequent appointments.
Therapy sessions range from $180 to $250, depending on the therapist’s qualifications and experience. While we do not accept insurance, we can provide you with a super bill to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services. At Love Your Story, we never want finances to be a barrier to receiving support. If you need a reduced fee, please contact our Care Coordinator at (650) 206-9505, and we will match you with a therapist who can provide care at a rate that works for you and your budget.
We require at least 24 hours notice for appointment cancellations. Sessions canceled less than 24 business hours in advance (not including weekends or holidays), as well as no-shows, are subject to the full fee being charged. Everyone is welcome in our practice, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or spiritual/religious beliefs. Discussions about faith, especially the therapist’s faith, do not enter the therapy room unless a client wishes to talk about it. A client will never experience proselytizing or judgment based on their values or lifestyle. Not only would that be poor therapy, but it would also be unethical.
